Down Memory Lane
This day……mmmmmm…not this day….it was 6th dec……last year …it was all so different…I was dressed in my best. In the very morning I was called onto the stage from where I cud see more than thousand people standing infront of me with a smile on their face and hands hitting each other hard…..YES!!! they were all singing a B’Day song for me…my B’Day was actually on 5th but it being a Sunday, they were celebrating it on Monday. the 6th.It was all such a new experience. I cud hear that beautiful tone coming out of the harmonica and see the students in the assembly ground holding flowers in their hands. And then a fellow colleague of mine R.B.(m).all of a sudden appeared on the stage with a beautiful bunch in her hand. And then came A.S.(m) with a loving smile and hugged me tightly. Before I cud thank her; a few other students flooded on the stage and gave their loving wishes in form of flowers ( which I later came to know that they’ve brought for their respective class teachers , but after knowing that it was my B’Day, they kept it for me. [SUCH A NICE GESTURE!!!]. By the time I came down I was having a complete bouquet in my hand (and I bet!! A few others were jealous to see that ….coz after serving for more than 4-5 years ,they never got so many flowers). And it was not the end…wishes kept coming the whole day!!! I remember I was in my class and didn’t had time to go out & meet others in the staff room. was thinking that the celebration ended there..BUT NO!! I WAS WRONG!! …. Coz my loving friends were there to make me feel special. They kept coming to my class to wish me in their own special way ( and even they were wishing me each time they were passing across my class). …And not only them; students were even coming to my class on the pretext of DRINKING WATER / ***. I can’t forget that naughty wish of a senior student …who plucked a lovely twig from somewhere in the school campus (STRICTLY PROHIBITED!!)..came to my class….kept his left hand at the back…flowers in the right hand ….and with a little bent in his body said “HAPPY B”DAY MAM”….. it made me had a hearty laugh……And yes!!! How can I forget that….. the gifts and the cards I got that day. I still have those beautiful hand made cards with me. [students from class U.Kg to senior sections (& specially students from U.Kg to class V ) made beautiful cards for me with beautiful thoughts scribbled on it]…….love you all for loving me so much!!!
And not to mention the GIFT that I refused to accept ( but accepted the card and the chocolates alongwith)….but later on had to take that too coz after a lot of Blah Blah over that it was left on my desk with a saying “IT’S YOURS NOW. TAKE IT AWAY OR THROW IT AWAY”…………………….THANX!!!!!!!! I still cherish those never to fade away memories………..
And yes tons of thanx to EC , AG and RD who made my real day (5th dec.) by dropping in from nowhere at my place and then bankrupting me of every penny I had!!!! ;-) I love u all for that.
This B’Day is entirely different from that one….. I am having loads of wishes, beautiful flowers. Lovely cards…sweet gifts….chocolates ……just everything…but still I am missing………………. missing the wishes of all those people who came in my life just for a year and changed me for the rest of my life!!!
I don’t have words to describe how fondly I cherish each & every moment shared with u people…… miss u and our togetherness…… our talks…..our laughs……..our fights……. JUST EVERYTHING!!!!
YOU WILL ALWAYS BE SPECIAL TO ME!!!
